Are the Dallas Cowboys actually “all in” this time around? Dallas disappointed its fans a year ago by claiming to be “all in” over the offseason and failing to make any significant moves. This year, they may be set to make up for it. Recently, the Cowboys have created over $50 million in cap space by restructuring the contracts of both Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb. This frees up the Dallas Cowboys to target some big names in free agency.
With their current roster, Dallas isn’t exactly set up to dominate the highly competitive NFC East. The Cowboys have needs at nearly every position on the field. This isn’t a stacked class of free agents by any means, but there are a few free agents on the market that the Dallas Cowboys could target with their newfound cap space.
Dallas Cowboys Targets with Newfound Cap Space
Tyler Lockett
Tyler Lockett is not the electric home run hitter that he used to be. Still, he would fill a need in Dallas for a relatively low price. The Cowboys are in need of a field-stretching receiver to complement CeeDee Lamb. Although players like D.K. Metcalf and Davante Adams are available, those options may be too expensive for Dallas.
Lockett has seen his production decline in the last two seasons with the Seahawks. In 2024, he totaled just 600 receiving yards, which was his worst number since 2017. However, he could command a bigger role in a more sparse receiving group in Dallas.
Ronnie Stanley
The Dallas Cowboys offensive tackle situation is shaky at best. Tyler Guyton showed promise in his rookie year, but he may not be the left tackle of the future. Meanwhile, Terrance Steele was often a liability at right tackle. Bringing in a proven veteran like Ronnie Stanley could solve the Cowboys needs on the offensive line.
