After an exciting wild card round, there are only eight teams remaining in the NFL playoffs. At this point in the postseason, every snap has the potential to make or break a season. This week’s games are packed with rich storylines and intriguing matchups. Who will emerge victorious and move on to the conference championship round? Here is my full NFL divisional round preview:
Texans @ Chiefs
The Houston Texans trounced the Los Angeles Chargers in a wild card game where they were three-point underdogs. Now, Houston faces the taller task of defeating the almighty Chiefs. C.J. Stroud’s connection with receiver Nico Collins consistently creates explosive plays down the field. Chiefs’ defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo will look to limit those shots down the field. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are seeking their third consecutive Super Bowl victory. Their road starts on Saturday against the Texans.
Commanders @ Lions
Jayden Daniels and the Commanders have far exceeded the expectations set for them before the start of the season. Daniels’ dynamic scrambling ability has acted as the driving force of Washington’s offense throughout the year. Additionally, the Commanders have found surplus value in defensive players like Bobby Wagner and Dorance Armstrong. However, they haven’t fared well when faced with top opponents like the Lions. Detroit’s offensive line has the ability to take over any game. The Lions will likely rely on their ability to control the line of scrimmage to make their way back to the NFC Championship.
